Great Florida Outpouring - Our Part

The church plant that I lead, Xtreme Encounters, has been watching the revival out of Lakeland, Florida every night this week. Todd calls all the churches that are watching the broadcast as a church “overflow rooms.” Well, the revival has certainly overflowed onto us in Albuquerque!

Wednesday night one of the girls called her 84 year old grandmother in Georgia and was telling her about the meetings. Granny had been filled with the Holy Spirit Sunday at her Baptist Church and was trying to figure out what was happening to her (she loved it!) This girl prayed for her grandmother’s hearing to be restored and then handed the phone to her 7 year old son to talk to his great-grandmother.

The boy and his great-granny had been having difficulty communicating by phone because of Granny’s hearing loss. Tonight, Granny was able to clearly hear the boy without her hearing aid and without him raising his voice (I overheard the conversation). The girl’s husband also spoke to Granny and was able to hold a conversation with her without raising his voice as well.

Granny was so excited about being able to hear that she told him that she was going to hang up and start calling people to tell them that her hearing was working! (In case anyone is offended, Granny is what you call your grandmother in the South and is how I know this woman - it’s not derogatory.)

This revival is not about Todd Bentley or Lakeland, Florida. God is pouring out His Spirit in the United States, just as He has been doing in other parts of the world. Anyone can be healed. Anyone can receive the anointing and operate in the miraculous. We have been receiving marvelous things from the Holy Spirit as we have been watching and praying.

The evening service is being carried live on God TV as well. The documentation on the miraculous healings that are taking place in Lakeland is beginning to come in as well.
