Kingdom Culture – Shaking What Can Be Shaken

September 29, 2007

Nothing is impossible with God, but we have to learn to not give up!That may sound easy if you just read it, but to actually do it, you have to encounter impossible, painful situations, and find out what is in you.You do not know what is inside of you until you get shaken! When you squeeze an orange you should not get something other than orange juice. If you went to the store and bought a can of soda thinking it was orange juice, you would discover what was wrong when you shook it up to drink it! It is the same with you, you do not know what is inside of you until God begins to shake you and open you up. Then you discover areas that still ‘blow up’ because they have carbonation them! He wants you to pay attention to these areas because they will keep you from getting close to him and the people that he wants you to.God shakes our lives to expose things that are not from heaven, those things that are keeping us from Him. He hears our prayers and knows our hearts and deeply wants us to be able to come close to him. He brings the shaking so that we can see what keeps us away from Him. We cannot see a lot of those things for ourselves, so we have to “try to find out what is acceptable to the Lord” (Eph. 5). Don’t waste your shaking/ troubles! Take a stance of faith and trust and hang on to Him until you are changed both inside and out.Remember that His thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways His ways! That means that you have to let go of the idea that you know the ways that He is working out your future and molding you. For Jacob, this meant that he would be marked forever from a wrestling match with an Angel. It is hard to make sense of being left lame, but it was God’s plan for Jacob. Jacob was desperate enough for his destiny in God that he would not let the wrestling match stop until he was given a new name and a blessing! Are you willing to hang on to God even when it hurts and marks you for life, and changes who and what you thought you were destined to be? I hope that your answer is ‘Yes, Lord I will follow you where ever you lead me–no matter what it looks like, no matter if it is hard, no matter who understands, no matter who sees, no matter how long it takes, no matter what happens along the way–I will have my destiny in you.’ Pastor Randal
