What Part of Thou Shalt Not Didn’t You Get?

March 31, 2008

This is for all the nut-case parents out there: KILLING YOUR CHILDREN IS A BAD THING.

And for all the nut-case adults attempting to sexually exploit children: SEX WITH CHILDREN IS ALWAYS WRONG. PERIOD.

In the era of abortion on demand, we have totally lost all value for life. The elderly? Oh, their quality of life isn’t up to our standards, so let’s let them die with dignity, whether they want to or not. Babies? They might be abused, so let’s rip them to pieces and dispose of them. It will be better for them.

NOT!

The rash of parental murders of late has really grieved me. It is beyond me how any one could kill their own child with their own hands. I have a thirteen-year-old daughter who is the delight of my life. Holding her under water and watching her life slip away is beyond my comprehension. Besides, she’s bigger than I am, and so now it is also beyond my ability to accomplish.

A Missing Generation

If you are in college right now, look at the people in your next class and realize that 1 in 4 of them are missing. That’s right – MISSING. One in four of those in your age group have been aborted. Others are dead because of some form of violence. So there is a possibility that the Einstein of your generation has already been killed. Or the person who might have found the cure for AIDS. Isn’t that a comforting thought?

We lose our minds over the plight of a couple whales who have beached themselves, and expend much money and effort to save them. That is not a bad thing. But very few people are willing to take a stand and say, “But what about the babies?” We try very hard to forget that every day 4,000 babies are murdered in the vilest fashion.

Parental Abuse

God entrusts children to the care of their parents. It is a parent’s responsibility to nurture their children. Children are not objects of sexual gratification or sadistic pleasure for you to rape, torture or kill.

How hard is that to understand?

Spiritual Significance

In the time of Moses and Jesus, satan incited rules to murder children. It wasn’t just the deliverers he was after. What about Aaron, Moses’ brother? What others were murdered who would have stood with Moses and maybe have made the burden he carried in leading Israel easier?

What about those who would have been potential followers of Jesus? We don’t have real information on the ages of the apostles, but it is not unreasonable to assume that there were those in the children killed in Bethlehem who would have grown up to follow Jesus and been world-changers in their own right.

How many of these children who have been killed had the potential to become another Wesley? Another Luther? Another world-changer who altered the course of history through their relationship with Jesus?

Horton Hears a Who

One of the messages of this movie is, “Who speaks for those who have no voice or has a voice that cannot be heard?” The answer for those of us who follow Jesus Christ is: WE DO.

We have at our disposal the power of the age to come. Paul said that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal; they are mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor 10:4). 1 John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Jesus left us empowered through His Holy Spirit to continue His work on the earth: To destroy the works of the devil. He has given us everything we need to overcome evil and to rescue the perishing. It is up to us to begin to take a stand and to become effective in fighting the spiritual fight to save children, not just in this country but in others as well.

Here is a blurb from an outreach/training school in Thailand that Patricia King is running in September:

An invitation from Patricia King:
Thailand is an epicenter for the multi-billion dollar global sex industry. Sex Tourists flood into cities like Pattaya and Bangkok to indulge in perversions they cannot easily find at home. Often, it is children, both boys and girls, who are solicited and used to fulfill the sexual desires of those visiting the region.

Operation Extreme Love Thailand is a two-week missions training school where believers from around the world will meet in Pattaya and Bangkok for a training and outreach experience. Together, we will raise up a standard and fill the region with God’s Extreme Love through sharing the gospel in word and power. We will minister the good news to prostitutes, sex tourists, transvestites, children, families, and others who have been oppressed or affected by the sex trade.

Together, we will bring Christ’s light to those oppressed by darkness, ministering healing, deliverance and prophetic encouragement. Join me and the Extreme Team for a wonderful encounter. Holy Spirit is traveling with us. It will be an experience none of us will ever forget.

We as Christians have the opportunity to make a difference wherever we are. We don’t have to go to Thailand to make an impact. We can pray and intercede right where we are.  Effective intercession will destroy the works of darkness in our city.  There is a multitude of training available out there to help you become a more effective intercessor and to destroy the works of the devil in your city.
