Xtreme Encounters – The Adventure Continues…

Yes, That Is Oil Pouring Off Of Allen\'s Hand

Yes, that is oil and it is pouring off the hand of one of the leaders in Xtreme Encounters. Allen tells the full story of this manifestation in his blog here.

Allen regularly sees people healed when he prays for them in his every day life. He has prayed for a totally deaf child to be healed that he ran into in the park and she was, that sort of thing. He doesn’t go out looking for people to pray for, he just prays for those who cross his path in life and Jesus heals them.

The problem that we are having, though, is that Allen is in need of healing.

That is Allen’s hernia. He had a surgery and the surgical site herniated. He has had 6 surgeries to repair the surgical site, but this is his condition today.

We don’t get it.

Everybody and their brother has prayed for Allen. People get healed all around him. HE prays for people and they get healed. His wife prayed for her grandmother on the phone and Granny’s deaf ears were healed. I went to Lakeland and prayed for Allen on my cell and had members of Todd Bentley’s team pray. But…

Do I believe God heals? Absolutely! Have I experienced healing? Yes. Have I prayed for people to be healed and they were healed? Yes. Among others, I prayed for two different people who were scheduled to have knee surgery. God healed their blown-out knees and they did not have to have the surgery. Yet, here is Allen.

I don’t understand and I will not pretend to understand. I know that God is a good God and that He heals. Sickness and disease are works of satan, and Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

Bill Johnson said that he is content to live with the mystery. His father, Earl, died of a type of cancer Bill regularly sees healed in his ministry. He has no answer to the question, “Why?” However, he will not allow what he does not understand to distort what he does know about God. God is good, and God is good all the time.

I agree with Pastor Johnson. We will continue to pray for the sick. We will continue to pray for Allen. We will continue to trust the Lord, even when what is going on doesn’t make sense to us. The foundations of our ministry and our lives before the Lord begin with, “For God so LOVED…” We are loved and so we show forth that same love to those we come in contact with. Healing is an expression of the love and compassion of our great God and Savior.

We will live with the mystery and press into all that the Lord has for us as individuals and as a group.
