There is a lot of garbage being posted in the blogosphere that those who are involved in the Lakeland Outpourig do not esteem the Word of God, which is utter nonsense. I hold that many who are posting these things are guilty of an even greater sin – that of being hearers of the Word without being doers of the Word.

James 1:21-27 states:

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

26If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. 27Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

What was it that Jesus told us to do?

Matt 28:17-20

17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mark 16:17-18

17“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

John 14:12-14:

12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Scripture makes it clear that we are not to just talk about the Kingdom; we are to demonstrate it. Jesus demonstrated the superiority of His Kingdom by overcoming darkness every time He encountered it. When faced with sickness, He healed it. When faced with demonic oppression, He set the captive free. When faced with death, He brought life. When faced with lack, He supplied what was needed.

How many of those in the blogosphere are looking after the widow and the orphan? Patricia King is. Todd Bentley is. Heidi Baker is. How many of them are demonstrating the superiority of the Kingdom of God to the kingdom of darkness by their works? Todd Bentley has been praying for the sick and seeing people healed for years. Heidi Baker has planted 10,000 churches, I think it is, in Africa after healing the blind and sick in the villages she ministers in. Patricia King is out on the streets praying for deliverance and healing on a regular basis. Are you?

It is very easy to get online and say, “Oh, beware of this because it doesn’t line up with my understanding of the Word.” What works do you have to show to authenticate your message? Is the Father backing up your verbal vomit of condemnation of everyone and everything with signs, wonders and miracles? Show me the people claiming to have been healed in your ministry (and I won’t even ask you for doctor’s verification). Show me a single media report of someone who was dead or near dead who has come back to life, such as Val Thomas has.

What is it that you are DOING to destroy the works of the evil one? Come out of your deception and become a doer of the Word.

Well,We sure aren’t kicking little ladies who have their hands in the air praying,In the face with combat boots, hitting their noses, knocking them out and saying they received the spirit,We believe Jesus when HE says we are to be humble and meek,But to also come boldly to the throne of Grace! We turn the cheek after being slapped for HIS name sake.We go where GOD leads us and we follow NO man!!God withholds nothing from us!God alone imparts the gifts, the callings,The healings,The miracles,And guess what?YOU CAN’T BUY IT!Won’t cost you a thing. And like last nights meeting? While the annointing is strong,Let’s take up an offering? What preacher who has a true heart toward our Abba Father,Would take the peoples mind off God,And put them on your pocketbook! When the annointing is flowing strong,That’s when people should be encouraged to receive their healing,That’s when they need to be prayed for,That’s when God and God alone,ALL By Himself,Communes with His children,Showing them their gifts and callings. That’s when the praise needs to pour out.Not the money plate passed out!!!Read Matthew 10:5-10.My salvation didn’t cost a dime,So I’ll freely give what God has given me!!You talk about what such and such has done,At the end time, before our Lord,There will be just that type that say,I’ve done this in your name,I’ve done that,And He will say,Depart from me you workers of iniquity I knew you not.The greatest will be least, the least greatest.Judge by the fruits…Is kicking someone in the face,Done in love?God would not tell someone to do that. And we are told specifically NOT to worship angels.Jesus is THE WORD,God would not give Jesus Glory to another!!!!The Gospel is Jesus Christ, and as we are to know them by their fruits,Then todd bentley as I’ve seen, isn’t bringing forth good fruit. Those people who are getting healed? Their own faith got it for them.Faith without works is dead,All any of them had to do,was step out in faith that God would heal them,And God did,But those who put their faith in Todd(man)Seems they were disappointed( by all the testimonies heard). What I say,I do say in love of Jesus. What I do,I do in love,be not deceived or conformed to this world,or worldly things.Follow Jesus,The wicked seek a sign,If you look only to Jesus, the signs and wonders will follow.Don’t seek them. Follow NO Man.!!Even the very elect would be deceived IF possible.Be Careful what you see, hear, speak.

I saw a whole lot of opinion in your comment and not a single scripture to back up your opinion. Your objections are all based on WHAT YOU THINK, which according to scripture, is a carnal mindset.

You won’t be able to convince Rahab that this is a pseudo revival.I tried on her other blog and no matter what scripture I pointed to she is going with Todd Bentley’s visons, angels and revelations.Sad to see 1 Timothy 4:1-2, Mathew 24:24 being fullfiled right before your eyes.It (Thess 2:1-3) only further shows that Jesus is soon to return.

Al, you refuse to provide the validation of your ministry that you are demanding of Todd Bentley. I see that as a double standard.

You see, I know Patricia King. I have met Todd Bentley and spent time watching him. Bill Johnson I have immense respect for. Patricia and Bill Johnson’s opinion of Todd Bentley’s life and teaching carry far more weight with me than yours.

I understand that satan would, under no circumstances, influence over a million people to come to Jesus. Those people are not under Todd’s care, they are under the care of local pastors. I’ve been to Lakeland. I saw the conversions. I saw the openness of the community to the Gospel because I witnessed to people while I was there.

Todd’s beliefs differ from yours. He can defend his scripturally and has done so. Dr. Gary Greig has done an excellent job formulating his response, as well.

I, however, seriously wonder about your relationship to the Lord because of the fact that you hate your brother, which means you do not know the Father. You are calling things I have seen to be of the Holy Spirit demonic. That puts you in serious danger. You refuse to accept the eyewitness testimony of people coming back to the revival saying they were healed and bringing medical reports and photographs with them. Jesus rebuked his disciples for refusing to believe Mary’s testimony and the testimony of the two on the road.

Rahab, this is Todd’s account right off his page before they changed it of the angel Emma. Do you belive that the Holy Ghost whacked the pastors wife ( Todd’s words) and she barked like a dog, crowed like a chicken and got peoples names and numbers supernaturally and started calling them and prophesying to them. Do you believe that the God of Heaven did this?
    EMMA, ANGEL OF THE PROPHETIC

Now let me talk about an angelic experience with Emma. Twice Bob Jones asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: “Todd, have you ever seen the angel by the name of Emma?” He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Surprised, I said, “Bob, who is Emma?” He told me that Emma was the angel that helped birth and start the whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980s. She was a mothering-type angel that helped nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about Emma, I was in a service in Beulah, North Dakota. In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel with open eyes, the Lord said, “Here’s Emma.” I’m not kidding. She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dress and looked like she was gliding across the platform. Emma appeared beautiful and young-about 22 years old-but she was old at the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life.

She glided into the room, emitting brilliant light and colors. Emma carried these bags and began pulling gold out of them. Then, as she walked up and down the aisles of the church, she began putting gold dust on people. “God, what is happening?” I asked. The Lord answered: “She is releasing the gold, which is both the revelation and the financial breakthrough that I am bringing into this church. I want you to prophecy that Emma showed up in this service-the same angel that appeared in Kansas city-as a sign that I am endorsing and releasing a prophetic spirit in the church.” See, when angels come, they always come for a reason; we need to actually ask God what the purpose is. Within three weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands of dollars! Thousands! Even though the entire community consisted of only three thousand people, weeks after I left the church the pastor testified that the church offerings had either doubled or tripled.

During this visitation the pastor’s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost- she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. Also, as this prophetic anointing came on her, she started getting phone numbers of complete strangers and calling them up on the telephone and prophesying over them. She would tell them that God gave her their telephone number and then would give them words of knowledge. Complete strangers. Then angels started showing up in the church.

I believe Emma released a financial and prophetic anointing in that place. That was the first angel that I have ever seen in the form of a woman. Some angels I’ve seen seemed like they were neither male nor female. However, Emma appeared as a woman who was like a Deborah, like a mother in Zion. When she came, she began to mentor, nurture and opened up a prophetic well. The people in the church began having trances and visions and the pastor began getting words of knowledge and moving in healing. That congregation also saw more financial breakthrough than they had ever seen before.
This is the video of Bob Jones, Todd Bentley and Patricia King teaching that you can take people to Heaven at any time. Do you believe that is Biblcal?

Actually, I quite do. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We have access to the throne of grace whenever we choose. We are commanded to seek those things which are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.

Since scripture makes it clear we have access to the heavenlies, why would I freak out over people experiencing that? I just took the group that I lead through Patricia King’s Glory School. We also just attended a conference with some of her itinerants the weekend before we became an overflow room for the Outpouring.

Todd edited this particular article because it brought division in the Body. He listened to the godly counsel of leaders he respects on this. I don’t have a problem with Emma because there were female beings in Zechariah’s vision in Zech 5:9.

It is interesting that the people who are focused on Emma and what she allegedly said and did are all those who are bashing this revival. Those of us who walk in this could really care less. Emma showed up. That’s cool. Did you hear Jesus healed so and so? We are hungry for the presence of the Lord, not who has what angel.

Angels are cool. I have a pair assigned to me and they are amazing. They are incredibly useful to have around. They also add an amazing dimension to my personal worship of the Lord. Angels are simply a part of kingdom life. I don’t worship them (they wouldn’t let me if I tried – one of the ways you know true angels), but I do appreciate their intervention.

Just so you know, I have had gold dust appear on me. I have received a gem stone from the Lord (it actually happened in a Todd Bentley meeting and it was to confirm something the Lord was saying to me). I haven’t seen oil manifest on me, but one of the guys in my group has. All of these things simply drew me closer to the Lord Jesus. It never ceases to amaze me that the God of the universe would take the time to play with His children. A friend of mine who was a counselor once told me that play was the primary method humans use to build deep relationships.

Rahab, I asked you this question in one of my previous post but did not receive a responce. Probably just an oversight on your part. Would you mind given me an answer? I posted the question again below.

Yes, actually I do. God has had people do wild things all throughout the Bible. Saul, when overcome by the Holy Spirit, stripped off his clothes and lay before Samuel prophesying for a day and a night. Compared to that, I would be very happy to bark like a dog and crow like a chicken in a crowd. Or to walking about naked for 3 years like Isaiah did.

My question about the phone numbers would be, was she accurate and what message did the Lord give her to give people? I remember Paul Cain getting something like 500 names and phone numbers of pastors to call who were under attack. He was also sent to talk to Saddam Hussein, but then God wouldn’t do that either, would he? The fact that the Clinton Administration backed his next trip proves that it couldn’t have been God, doesn’t it? You can see the photos on Paul’s website, paulcain.org.

  9. June 19, 2008 9:22 pm

Rahab, thank you for answering my question. Now as far I know according to Charisma and other sources Paul Cain is an un repented homosexual and alcoholic exposed by Rick Joiner and another minister who escapes me for a momment. You might be able to help me with his name. I understand Pastor Strater made a statement acknowledged by Todd that Paul Cain would not be allowed in the pulpit again becuase of his denial of that incident at Tiger Stadium. I actually heard him ask Todd if he would allow him to minister to see if the Lord was with him. Todd did and he received supposedly some words of knowledge that night. I witnessed that persoanlly on televison. Can we trust our spiritual lives with immoral people?

Well, since King David was an adulterer and continued to write scripture, I suppose that God is the best judge of that. Psalm 51 was written after his sin with Bathsheba, after all. And God did see fit to entrust the writing of much of the New Testament to a repentant murderer named Paul.

Paul Cain has repented, has gone through a restoration process and been released back in to ministry by that oversight group. He did not deny that he had sinned. He was referring to a group of people who are saying that he is unrepentant for his sin. There is a statement on his website regarding his statements at Lakeland. I have blogged about that on this site as well.

The other statement that he made regarding being celibate I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on. Paul is in his late 70’s. He may be referring to the fact that he has never been with a woman, because he was talking about marriage to a young man. To my knowledge, that would be a true statement. That is the type of slip Paul is prone to make. I have listened to him for 20 years and have heard him do similar things.

The original accusations were brought by Jack Deere, Rick Joyner and Mike Bickle. Jack was the first to hear of it from someone he was counseling. Paul admitted to Charisma that he was as guilty as he could be.

  11. June 20, 2008 2:57 am

Thanks for your answer on Paul Cain. I agree that God can use someone like David that has repented. I know of several people that know Paul Cain personally and say he is unrepented over the matter. Why else would Pastor Strater make a statement that Paul Cain would not be welcomed back to minister in the Pulpit? I belive that is why Rick Joiner and Mike Bickle exposed him to beging with, becasue he would not submit himself to the process. I remember reading the e-mail that Rick Joiner sent out about it.

Here is another point I would like to bring out. When Todd Bentley had his mentor Bob Jones on the platform, I heard Bob Jones say to the crowd. I see some of you are vibrating. ( by the way that is new age termonolgy, the same with portals)He said if you vibrate clockwise that is the power of God. If you vibrate counter clockwise that is the power of the devil. At which point Todd laughed and said I am always vibrating. Bob Jones replied that is why you are always healing. He went on to further say, it’s the vibration that drives sickness and cancers out. I saw and heard these commments for myself. Ever since that Todd has incorporated that termonology when he is asking people if they felt something. According to the Word of God it’s faith in the Name of Jesus, the Word of God and the anoining of God that heals the sick. Not Todd Bentley or anyone else for that matter vibrating.Acts 3, Acts 10:38, 1 Peter 2:24, John 8:31-32, Psalm 107:20
Where do we find this doctrine by Bob Jones in the Bible? Divine H=healing is based upon Jesus going to Calvary and taking away our diseases and infirmties not someone vibrating, don’t you agree? Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:24.

Bob is a seer prophet and those types are always a bit strange. Tell me, do you REALLY understand everything in Revelation?

I’ve listened to Bob for 20 years as well. Sometimes it takes the Holy Spirit time to explain to me what the heck he was communicating through Bob. Sometimes my problem had to do with my own immaturity. Years later, the word would come back up again and I’d say, “OH! I GET it now!”

Physical manifestations are just that, manifestations. They are merely the physical reaction of the body to contact with the supernatural. I personally have vibrated during my personal prayer time for many years, long before this outpouring started. The real question is the source. The new age stole everything they have from the church (after all, God has a rainbow over his throne, doesn’t he?)

Portals is just a name. Jacob saw a portal when he saw the angels of God ascending and descending the ladder. Again, what is the source.

Source is always the issue. That is why one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the discerning of spirits. That gift was given to reveal the source of many things.

Healing is part of the atonement. Healing comes through the Holy Spirit (what do people think the anointing is? It’s not a thing, it’s a WHO). Todd Bentley thoroughly believes this and teaches it. I’ve heard him teach it more than once in this outpouring.

But if God heals through His Spirit and the vibration is a physical manifestation of the Holy Spirit, I don’t have too much problem seeing that the vibration could be considered to drive stuff off because it is Him. Bob isn’t always the clearest thing in his explanations. That is why when he was with Mike Bickle, Mike or someone always ministered with him as an interpreter. We always thought it was funny watching those who speak Bob.

Which blog, Al? This is the only one that I am currently keeping active. I have another on Blog Spot regarding a church plant I was a part of and one I haven’t gotten up yet called Xtreme Encounters. I haven’t deleted any blogs of mine, so I’m curious about which one you are referring to.

Maybe I am using the wrong termonology. I was referring to the cooments you made on this other one.
