Todd Bentley Commissioning Service

On June 23, 2008, Todd Bentley was commissioned by apostolic group, Revival Alliance, and brought into formal affiliation with this group. Revival Alliance is an organization of revival leaders that includes Bill and Beni Johnson, Che and Sue Ahn, John and Carol Arnott, Georgian and Winnie Bannov, Randy and Deanne Clark and Roland and Heidi Baker. The video below is the first of four on You Tube showing the entire ceremony. Click on the video, go to You Tube and watch them all. C. Peter Wagner, head of Global Harvest, presided.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

more about “Todd Bentley’s Apostolic and Propheti…“, posted with vodpod

Bill Johnson explained the motives and discussion that lead up to this event in is his sermon Sunday, June 22, at Bethel Church in Redding, CA. The sermon is available here at the Bethel website as a video for the next few days and is entitled, The Loyalty of Bethel. It is also available on their podcast.

Revival Alliance is the result of a prophetic word that Bob Jones gave to Heidi Baker regarding an alliance of 12 revival leaders. Heidi contacted those Bob saw in the vision and Revival Alliance was born. The leaders of Revival Alliance is determined to give themselves away for the benefit of others. The goal of this group is to stand together, explore together, and stay accountable together; basically to live and die for each other.

In the original vision, Todd Bentley’s ministry was part of the alliance, but Bob said that at that time it was not the time yet to include Todd. When Bill Johnson asked Bob Jones if now was the time, Bob said, “It’s time because of his enemies.” Because of who is opposing Todd, it is important for them to rally around him.

Pastor Johnson makes it clear in his sermon that for him, when a man of God is being shot at, that is where he wants to be to stand with them. He wants to throw his hat in the ring with people who are making a mess of the kingdom of darkness. It is not the time to jump ship when someone is facing a hard time. That is when you rally around them and give the enemy multiple targets to shoot at.

Xtreme Encounters has been an Overflow Room for the Florida Outpouring since April 21. We have made a decision that, although we are a small ministry, we will stand with Fresh Fire Ministries and see this thing through. We want to see the good fruit that we see (people have been healed and saved in our ministry as a result of the encouragement we have received from the Outpouring) spread, not just in Lakeland, not just in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we are, but all over the world.

    Rahab,
I was wondering about something. As I was watching this pseudo revival tonight. I noticed that the VIP seat were almost empty especially after we had the elite apostles on deck. They all have been prophesying how this is such a great revival and how Todd Bentley is the real thing. I am just wondering. If there is such a great anointing at these meetings and God is doing such great things, and according to Todd there is no other agenda but seeking God. Why a day later after all of these so called apostles made Todd Bentley out to be the greatest evangelist/apostle of times, why are they gone?
If this was as great as they say it is I would want to hang around and soak as they put it. However they all split. Doesn’t that alone tell you something about all of this?
I have been waiting for you to answer some of my responses to your questions on the other comment page where you and I were having a discussion , but I have not received a reply. Look forward to hearing from you.

The guys who were there, in case you missed Che Ahn’s statement, all have international commitments and it was something of a miracle to get them all there on Monday.

This was about Che Ahn’s 3rd or 4th trip. It was, I think, John and Carol Arnott’s third. They left extended meetings in Toronto with one of Todd’s associates to be there Monday. Rick Joyner is overseeing somewhat of a massive move on his own campus. They are having meetings at Morningstar six nights a week. Georgian Bannov tends to be everywhere.

They came to bless Todd. Bill Johnson said in his Sunday sermon that yes, he was going to pray for Todd, but he was really going there to plunder. Todd said that he was going to pray for all the leaders who came to get whacked. Bill Johnson said he had every intention of it being so.

So according to Wendy Jesus is appearing at Lakeland, Todd ( the greatest evangelist that ever lived)is ministering every night out a different mantle or annointing that is going to change your life and these guys leave? Where is their hunger I ask or their loyalty for their new found leader. Is is possible that some of them are distantsing themselves from Todd becuase they see he is out their too deep for them??
Rabad please wake up before you wake up to be vicitim number ? of these scriptues 1 Timothy 4:1-2, Mathew 18:10
I have read your post where you have pledged your allegiance to Todd Bentley. I am asking you to re consider based on the Word of God. I know you have a zeal for God but the bible says zeal without knowledge is dangerous.Proverbs 19:2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge,
nor to be hasty and miss the way.

I posted a link to Bill Johnson’s sermon. You should listen to it. You could learn a vast amount from him, the least of which is don’t open your mouth about what you have no concept of.

Bill Johnson, Che Ahn and John Arnott have more depth in their relationship with the Lord than you will ever have. The reason? They are humble men, they are loyal men and they love the Lord Jesus more than they love their lives. These men are booked 2 years in advance and they carved the time out to come to Lakeland because they are hungry for what God is doing. They walked with Todd Bentley through what he calls his dark night of the soul and they love him.

These men do not just have responsibility for their own churches, they also have responsibility for large networks of churches.

Wake up and repent, Al. You are opposing God and you will just as surely find him opposing you as Paul did on the road to Damascus. Your mocking spirit only shows your lack of teachability and humility. You have next to no ministry and you mock those who are being effecting in bringing the Kingdom to multitudes of people. When was the last time you ministered in China or Africa or Southeast Asia? When was the last time you saw 30,000 saved in one of your crusades? When was the last time you saw someone healed of cancer in your meetings? All of these men have seen thousands of people born again, people healed of all kinds of disease and injuries.

All you guys can say is that it can’t be real because their doctrine does not line up with your understanding of scripture. Jesus is backing their ministries. They are producing good fruit. What is your fruit? Let’s see the documentation on those you have said were healed in your meetings. Let’s see the numbers on those converted in your meetings. What is the name of the network of churches you oversee? What is the name of the school of ministry you founded and oversee?

And before you rip me for not reading your site, I have. You have absolutely no substantiation on your web site for any of the claims that you are making. There is nothing there to make me believe you are in any kind of relationship with any oversite organization whatsoever.

You are linked to not only the Word of Faith movement, but also CFN, which was the propaganda arm for William Branham’s ministry. Gordon Lindsay, the founder of CFN, was Branham’s chief of staff and the magazine that CFN publishes used to be called the VOICE OF HEALING and was founded by Lindsay to promote Branham’s ministry. So if you are going to scream about Todd’s theology, let’s hear you defend the ministries you are linking to in light of the things you have posted.

So, now, what group are you in alliance with? Who provides oversight of your ministry and what group of leaders are you answerable to?

  6. June 26, 2008 5:54 am

I could really see the love of God coming out of you thru that outburst. I did not know you knew so much about my ministry. I am flatered. No need for further comment from me. Let the post and the things that have been divulged speak for themselves and let the people make up their own minds as to which is the right road. I Bless you.

This response from Bill Johnson to a critic who dared question his support of Todd Bentley – rife with hostility, ridicule, judgement and condemnation – paints a vivid picture of this closed sect.

Chaya, try at least listening to the link I posted to Bill Johnson’s sermon on Sunday. He explained exactly why he said what he said in this. I know it is much more fun to jump to conclusions (see my post Jump Shout Boogie), but it really is unacceptable to do so when the explanation from the originator of the comment is available.

Rahab, Jesus Christ is the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He says, “My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me.”

I am one of His sheep, so I listen to and follow Him alone. And he has clearly told me not to listen to Bill Johnson. Or Todd Bentley. Or anyone else affiliated with this deceptive movement that does not require people to repent, and never mentions the price paid for their sins on the cross through the perfect sacrifice of the Son of God.

Be grateful for His mercy and humble yourself under His mighty hand, for He alone is holy.

And He will not be mocked.

    Shalom.

Then why are you reading what he writes? So it is okay to judge his motives without listening to him?

You simply do not wish to know. If you were teachable, you would read their writings and judge them against the Word of God. If you believe those things about this man, then you have no idea of his teaching, his life or his ministry.

Your condescending, self-righteous attitude is very typical of those who are posting the majority of the hate-filled rhetoric on the blogosphere. The attitude of “I don’t have to listen, I KNOW what they believe.” You know nothing about these men, their lives or their teachings, but you have an opinion about them.

    Chaya,

I did not pick up the hostility, ridicule, judgment or condemnation from your link. I thought it was a well written response. However when reading your comments I am reminded of Paul stating that whatever faults we see in a brother is the same one we have, perhaps that explains your reaction?

Why are so many christians opposed to the holy spirit.`?They will not even test the spirits or look at the fruit coming forth.Well, it’s for certain the enemy uses christians probably more than non-believers. 19. June 27, 2008 5:23 am

    Don,
We are testing the spirits and that is why we are speaking out. Todd Bentley’s experiences do do line up with the Word of God, neither does his doctrine. Have you looked into what Todd Bentley, John Crower, Bob Jones, Patricia King and others in this group believe?
Here is some of what John Crowder believes off his my space website:
    John Crowder’s Interests
General Divine Ecstasy, Soul Snatching, Reaching the Outcast, Third Heaven Visitation, Wonderworking, Levitation, Bilocation, Translation, Transfiguration, Exorcisms, Spontaneous Generation of Matter, Water Walking, Walking Through Walls, Glowing, Healing, Dead Raising, Stigmatism, Incombustibility, Speaking with Animals, Authority over the Elements, Super Strength, Angelic Interaction, etc.

Todd Benley believes in his female angel Emma who by the way if you look her up in Brittanica is an underworld female ruler. When the heat was turned up on Emma thay doctored up their website to make it look like she is not female. Todd Bentley told ministers in New Jersy that God told him to get the tattoos ( this after being saved and in ministry). He said that God sometimes breaks His own rules. He now is saying he had them before being saved. Yes we are judging the fruit and the doctrine and we have a biblical right and resposibilty to do so and it does not line up with the Word of God. Psalm 138:2, 1 Corinth14:29, 1 Thess 5:19-20, John 8:31-32, John 17:17, 1 Timothy 4:1-2, 2 Timohty 4:1-5, 2 Peter 2:1-3, John 16:13, Colossians 2:18
Todd Bentley, Bob Jones, Patricia King all believe you can take trips to Heaven at will. Here is video all three discusiing this:

Targeting the Children: False Prophets Duping Christian Parents

Where in the Bible do you see people traveling to Heaven at will? Jesus said while on earth He could only do what the Father showed him to do. John 5:19-20,30
This is just a little of the errors they foster that are leading people astray. 1 Timothy 4:1-2, 2 Peter2:1-5, 2 Timothy 4:1-6

    Wow Rahab,
I see you have people commenting here
that want to make you “see” things their
way. While, I don’t believe the way that
you do, and you certainly don’t believe the
way I do, I submit that we need to allow
each other to come to our own conclusions.
Backbiting does no good (and I’m not talking
about you) I’m talking about the people that
come to YOUR page and try to correct YOU.
I don’t think it is humanly possible to be
correct about everything regarding God while
in this life, He is just too big for our puny
minds. But after coming out of that stupid
pseudo “christian” cult, I have become more
willing to live and let live. God bless ya

What Todd said is that Emma appeared female to him. He did not say she was female. He holds that angels are genderless, but can take on whatever appearance they choose because they do not have a physical body.

Wow, it really amazes me how much demonic knowledge you people have. I was in the occult before I got saved and didn’t know as much about the demonic as you do. I really don’t have time to pursue such studies as a Christian because I would rather spend my time feeding my Spirit from His Word and hanging out in His presence.

You have never asked John Crowder what he believes. You are making assumptions because of his MySpace profile.

Again, Al, who are you affiliated with and submitted to? Where is the documentation of the healings and salvations on your site? Since you know how Todd should be running his life and ministry, where is the information on your site that you are demanding he produce?

  23. rahabsplace permalink*
    June 27, 2008 2:20 pm

Rather than looking to the demonic for information, Peter Kirk at Gentle Wisdom blog offers this interpretation of the name Emma:

Well, Emma is a modern name I think, but it might well be an adaptation of the Hebrew word AMMA, which means “cubit”, or AMA “female servant”, both of which would be appropriate names for an angel – “cubit” being suitable for the measuring angel of Ezekiel 40-47 and Revelation 21.

  24. June 27, 2008 8:43 pm

Rahab, We are not looking for demonic info we are comparing the things that Todd Bentley, Patricia King, Bob Jones and others against the Word of God and they do not add up. We are not to follow signs and wonders but we are to follow the Word of God which God has exalted above all things. Psalm 138:2, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 89:34, Acts 19:11
Why do you get so upset with us that are pointing you and others to the Word of God to help you see the truth ( John 17:17, John 8:31-32) We are not attacking anybody. We are just showing you from God’s Holy written Word that what Todd Bentley and others are saying and doing is against the Word of God. By the way Jesus is the Word! They are inseparable. John 1:1-14.
I listened to Wendy Alec co founder of God TV tonight read from a word she says got from god where she claims that we that oppose this revival are satanic, religous demons and she asked the body of Chirst to pray against us. Is this Christian fruit just becuase we disagree? Mathew 7:15-16

Really, then provide the information I have requested of you that you demand of Todd.

Who are you affiliated with, who are your accountable to and show me verification of the claims of healing on your website.

You have completely failed to follow scripture. You have not directly contacted any of the people you are questioning. You are making assumptions about their teachings without having asked them personally a single question. That is ungodly and sin. Do not make yourself out to be this humble seeker of truth and defender of the word of God when you do not follow the basic biblical commands. Todd has given explanation of things that you keep bringing up. You refuse to accept that he has done so. That is why I delete every post you make regarding Emma. You do not refer to his explanation in them. You merely repeat accusations that he has answered in his open letter.

You need to repent for your ungodly behavior and take your concerns to your brothers.

  27. June 28, 2008 2:47 am

I figured you would delete my last post with the videos of Todd making these satements and Patricia King, Bob Jones Todd Bentley teaching that they can take anyone to Heaven even little children. Anyone that would take what they have publicly stated and put it up to the Word of God would clearly see they are very wrong. Why would you be afraid of people hearing the truth about what they teach and waying it out for themselves instead of thru your selective posting trying to enforce your ideas on the minds of people that come on your blog?

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles…They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen.

…Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind to do what ought not to be done…Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Because, Al, I don’t consider what you post to be the truth. You see, I know some of these people you trash personally and their doctrine is far more correct than yours. They actually obey the word of God. See Patricia King’s Love War postings.

You are in unrepentant sin. Why would I give you an unlimited forum? Why do you keep trying to bring up Emma and ignore the fact that you have not contacted these people directly. Instead, you attempt to spread gossip and dissent within the body.

Answer the question. Where is your documentation? Oh, it must be because you have none.

While I hate the unfounded attacks against TB, I think some of the critics raise valid points. Punching people, simony, pride, exaggerations, deception and other things need to be burned up in his ministry. Sometimes God uses opposition to refine us and I hope TB goes down because Jesus is all I want lifted up.

Gee, hoping a brother goes down rather than lifting him up before the Lord and asking the Lord to convict him of his errors. Can’t you just see the world beating in the doors to get in churches filled with that kind of love?
